India stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the\u00a0Banking<\/a><\/span>,\u00a0Real Estate<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0Green Energy<\/a><\/span>\u00a0sectors led shares higher.<\/p>\n

At the close in NSE, the\u00a0Nifty 50<\/a><\/span>\u00a0added 0.09% to hit a new 1-month high, while the\u00a0BSE Sensex 30<\/a><\/span>\u00a0index gained 0.06%.<\/p>\n

The best performers of the session on the\u00a0Nifty 50<\/a><\/span>\u00a0were\u00a0IndusInd Bank\u00a0Ltd. (NS:INBK<\/a><\/span>), which rose 3.21% or 34.55 points to trade at 1,109.30 at the close. Meanwhile, HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:HDFL<\/a><\/span>) added 2.86% or 14.80 points to end at 531.85 and\u00a0Eicher Motors\u00a0Ltd. (NS:EICH<\/a><\/span>) was up 2.69% or 84.15 points to 3,212.50 in late trade.<\/p>\n

The worst performers of the session were\u00a0Infosys\u00a0Ltd (NS:INFY<\/a><\/span>), which fell 2.74% or 39.10 points to trade at 1,389.20 at the close.\u00a0Tech Mahindra\u00a0Ltd (NS:TEML<\/a><\/span>) declined 2.08% or 23.05 points to end at 1,086.85 and\u00a0HCL Technologies\u00a0Ltd (NS:HCLT<\/a><\/span>) was down 2.07% or 22.65 points to 1,071.85.<\/p>\n

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK<\/a><\/span>) which rose 3.15% to 1,108.90, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:PGRD<\/a><\/span>) which was up 1.74% to settle at 231.15 and Axis Bank Ltd. (BO:AXBK<\/a><\/span>) which gained 1.62% to close at 864.60.<\/p>\n

The worst performers were Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY<\/a><\/span>) which was down 2.79% to 1,388.60 in late trade, Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:TEML<\/a><\/span>) which lost 2.13% to settle at 1,086.50 and HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:HCLT<\/a><\/span>) which was down 2.09% to 1,071.85 at the close.<\/p>\n

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1027 to 890 and 55 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1851 rose and 1520 declined, while 115 ended unchanged.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0India VIX<\/a><\/span>, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.97% to 11.91.<\/p>\n

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.76% or 15.45 to $2,040.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.50% or 0.42 to hit $82.84 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.51 to trade at $86.82 a barrel.<\/p>\n

USD\/INR was down 0.16% to 81.84, while EUR\/INR rose 0.15% to 90.17.<\/p>\n

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 101.03.<\/p>\n
